Children's Faith Formation 2020-2021

Due to the circumstances involving COVID19, Children's Faith Formation Classes for the upcoming school year for grades K-8 and Confirmation have to change.  They will be done online at home.

We will have our first meeting after we see how well the schools do with reopening, but e-access is available as soon as your registration has been returned. All families from 2019-2020 were mailed a registration form week ending 9/12/2020. You can return this to the Parish Office and I will contact you via email with what you need to know.

It is up to the parents/guardians to bring the children to the hall if they feel comfortable.  Tables and chairs will be sanitized after each use, sanitizer stations will be available. MASKS MUST BE WORN.  We feel it is necessary to connect with our students and each other,  BUT  if your child has a fever OR anyone in your home shows symptoms,  PLEASE STAY HOME.   When the virus is under control, we will resume regular classes, until then, the guidelines must be adhered to.

We will be supplying the students with their own ebooks digital access to Our Sunday Visitors website for Alive in Christ.   Their teachers or I will be available to help them through if needed.

We understand how unprecedented these past few months have been.  We do not want to add to the burden and changes everyone has been through, so we have tried to make it as easy as possible while still being able to catechise.

Please note:

Students in their Sacramental years will need to attend additional classes in the spring.  We hope this will be in person, but a back up plan is also in the works.  Confirmation Students will also have the regular packet due in the Spring.

Financial Information:

We will provide each student with an ebook digital access, and the subscription to formed.org  where available content may be used to help teach a lesson.

For this year, we ask for $20 for the first student, $10 each for any additional children.  If you have any questions or are in need of financial aid, please feel free to email me at jbelkota.dmparish@gmail.com

You may pay online at the Parish Home Page by clicking the DONATE button. Click here to go to the home page.

We also ask for your help, in supporting and encouraging your students through their religious preparation.  Our Catechism reminds us that “the role of the parents in education is of such importance that it is almost impossible to provide an adequate substitute.  The right and the duty of the parents to educate their children are primordial and inalienable”  Catechism of the Catholic Church -2221

We will be using Our Sunday Visitor for Grades 1-8 and Ascension Press for Confirmation.  More details will follow, including the dates of our monthly meetings and registrations.

Thank you for your understanding during this pandemic.
